Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S26 FE, a lower-cost model in its flagship smartphone line, focusing on artificial intelligence features for photos and video.
The new handset will go on sale on September 4 with a starting price of $700, Ukrainian news outlet LIGA.net reported. Buyers will be offered versions with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage in Blueberry, Pistachio, and Graphite color options.
Samsung Electronics, headquartered in Suwon, South Korea, regularly produces Fan Edition models to bring high-end smartphone features to buyers at more accessible price points.
Hardware and display specifications
The primary hardware upgrade over the previous Galaxy S25 FE model is the inclusion of an Exynos 2500 processor. The chip is manufactured using a three-nanometer semiconductor fabrication process and delivers higher performance for both its graphics processing unit and neural processing module.
Semiconductor technology measured in nanometers indicates the size of transistor structures on a chip, with smaller fabrication nodes generally enabling higher computational efficiency and reduced power consumption.
Other hardware specifications remain largely unchanged from the previous generation. The device features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, alongside a 4,900 mAh battery supporting 45 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging.
For photography, the phone includes a 50 MP primary camera, an 8 MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide lens. Organic light-emitting diode displays use self-illuminating pixels to produce vivid colors and deep contrast without requiring a backlight.
Artificial intelligence software tools
The smartphone operates on Android 17 with Samsung's One UI 9 interface overlay. Software enhancements include automated subject tracking during video recording, horizon stabilization that functions even while rotating the device, and improved low-light night photography.
Samsung also integrated Photo Assist, a feature that enables users to modify images by typing text commands. Purchasers of the phone will receive six months of access to Google AI Pro, which includes 5 TB of cloud storage space.
Android is Google's mobile operating system, while One UI is Samsung's proprietary software interface designed to customize navigation and system controls across Galaxy devices.

The launch comes alongside other recent developments in Samsung's mobile portfolio. European sales data indicates that the Galaxy Fold 8 has become the most popular model in the company's latest foldable device range across Europe.
Meanwhile, leaked renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra show a rear camera module layout that closely resembles the design of Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max.
