Avatars 2 it’s already blockbuster on the first weekend in theaters. In cinemas from Wednesday, December 14th, the second chapter of the Pandora saga hits the screens 1,132,561 peoplefor a stellar gain equal to 9,982,213 euros and a clear departure from the other titles in the lineup.
Pandora’s Universe confirms its primacy in cinema
The week from the 12th to the 18th of December it was all for Avatar. Perhaps predictable, but not so obvious, that James Cameron’s film, sequel to the first part released in 2009, is confirmed as a blockbuster. The first film of the saga conquered the primacy of thehighest-grossing film in historywith $2.92 billion in the international market. Considering how successful the second film is having, Pandora’s record could remain unchanged.
Prints last weekend before Christmas
Christmas week will bring thousands of Italians to cinemas and could significantly increase the box office. On the last weekend before the holidays, the most watched movie immediately after Avatar was Puss in Boots 2a Shrek spin-off, which generated 90,132 theatrical tickets, followed by Neighbors with Claudio Bísio. Black Panther – Wakanda Foreverin its second weekend in theaters, it is for the time being “overshadowed” by the release of Avatar 2. The most watched movie in Italy in 2022 is Minions 2
Since the beginning of the year, the most watched film of all time has been confirmed, for now, Minions 2 – How Gru becomes very evilwhich raised a total of 🇧🇷 14,772,147with 2,186,186 Italians in cinemas since August 2022. Continued Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with €13,670,004 and 1,854,490 visitors. In third place Top Guns with €13,141,835 in revenue and which took 1,783,416 Italians to the cinema. Then again, marvel at Thor: Love and Thunder released in July, followed by The Batman in theaters from March. In just one weekend, Avatars 2 is already in sixth place of the most viewed films of the year.
